BECOME A MARSHAL
Our marshals are the heart and soul of every event, none of which could be staged without their hard work and dedication. They're also there to cheer on the athletes and make sure they complete the course safely.
We've been extremely fortunate to be able to call upon a fantastic pool of marshals and we're always on the lookout for more vounteers to help build the team. If you'd like to join us then please don't hesitate to contact us at email@example.com
Are you injured?
Would you like free entry to future events?
We offer free event entry to all our volunteer marshals. If you can't take part in an event and you'd like to give something back to your sport, then marshaling could be perfect for you. In return for helping out, our marshals get a free entry into a Go Beyond event.
Instead of moping around at home with your broken leg or twisted ankle, why not join our team and help all the other athletes get around the course?
What roles are there?
We try and rotate our marshals so they experience every role during the course of a season. However we also cater to an individual's preference and experience.
Timing, Registration, Finishers management, Prize giving, Race course control, Water stations, Car parking, Bike marshals, Transition, Course set up and design...
Why be a marshal?
After a race you recently completed, you may have appreciated that the reliable and friendly marshals on your race day were essential. As a marshal you will be expected to Offer advice, answer questions or simply encourage your fellow athletes. You know that you will have contributed to delivering a great event. Marshals receive a huge amount of appreciation from athletes either on race day or simply by comments posted on the website. check them out on Runnersworld.
What are the perks?
We always offer tea & coffee free to all marshals and of course there is home made cake! You'll get a free event t-shirt and free entry to a Go Beyond event. This can be transferred to a friend as well, so your next present could be something they really want !
How does this work?
Firstly we'll add you to our marshals list and then nearer the event date we'll send an email. Check your diary and let us know if you're available. Closer to the event date maps and instructions are sent out specifying times, locations and your specific responsibilities. We will be in close contact before and during the event, so there's no need to worry. We often require marshals to be onsite early but we won't expect you to hang around for long. Unless you want to.
