Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is a registered charity which selects and trains dogs to respond to specific sounds which people who can hear often take for granted, such as the alarm clock, doorbell, baby cry, telephone and smoke alarm.
Hearing dogs are free to deaf people but it currently costs in excess of £10,000 for the charity to acquire and socialise a puppy or young dog, train it to alert to the required sounds and place it in a partnership which we will support for the working life of the dog.
As they receive no government funding they rely solely on the generosity of individuals, fundraising groups and companies to support their work.
One of the ways you can support is by participating in one of their chosen events, which includes Trans Britain, please see details below.

They work with grass roots projects around the world and aim to catch those who cannot get aid, support or assistance elsewhere. They really do offer hope to those who need it the most.
