Premier single day Ultra event

Now established as the UK openers in the Ultra race calendar. The Country to Capital is also one of the premier single day Ultra events. The route takes in some pretty stunning countryside which, even in the depths of winter is going to look good. We carry this countryside well inside the M25 where we pick up the Grand Union Canal tow path for the final run into London where we will finish at Little Venice.

Our Race start is hosted by the Shoulder of Mutton Pub which is directly opposite Wendover railway station and there is plenty of room for parking, for information on the pub and travel options click here.

Entry Fee: £42.00.

Parking: There is plenty of free parking on pub premises.

Time Limit: The time limit is 11 hours. Progressive cut off times exist at later CPs. See CP information. Full CP Information.

What to wear: It’s the depths of winter and conditions will be changeable so please bear that in mind. Footwear is a matter of personal choice but we would recommend all terrain shoes unless the conditions dictate otherwise.

Drinks & Refreshments: There are 5 check points all stocked with water, Gu enrgy gels, Jelly Babies and the famous Go Beyond Cake. Check point 3 also boasts the addition of savoury snacks. Breakfast of bacon rolls, juice and tea/coffee can be purchased at the pub and there is free tea, coffee and snacks at the finish.

Baggage Transfer: As part of the race logistics we will transfer a single competitor bag to the finish. Warm, dry clothes will be waiting for you along with our congratulations and free refreshments.

Race Goodies: Medals and Technical Apparel is provided to all finishers.

UTMB Qualification Race: Since the outset Country to Capital has been a qualifying race for Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc® a fact which we are quite proud of. The race counts as 1 point towards qualification for the UMTB long course.
